Analyse magazine advert- Craig David

Technique
Example
Effect
Font
Bold capitals
The bold capital letters makes the text clear and easy to read. By using the same text in the magazine advert and the album makes the overall magazine advert look more professional. Some texts are larger than others indicating which text is of more importance. The featuring songs may attract some audience into buying the album, therefore it is presented in the advert.
Style of Language (Emotive)
Formal emotive language
By using words such as ‘Amazing’ will persuade the audience into buying the album. Words such as ‘the greatest soul hits’ will encourage to audience to buy the album and listen to these great soul hits.
Image
Album cover
The album cover is in the magazine advert. This will make the advert look more interesting. The album includes the name of the artist and the name of the album which are important information whilst purchasing this album. The audience will also recognise the album if they are buying it in store.
Colour
Black and grey
The few colours used makes the magazine advert look more professional as many colours would cause an advert to look unprofessional. The same colours are used in the album cover and the advert. This will make the advert clearer. The black background contrasts with the grey and white text making the text clearer to read.
Layout
Plain but effective
The layout is clearly structured making the advert easy to read. Although this advert is plain, it’s effective as it looks tidy.
Information
Artist name and album, release date and featuring songs
The information presented in the magazine advert is important as it tells the audience the name of the album and artist and when it is available in stores. This advert will help sell the album as it will attract people to buy the album
