Analyse magazine advert- Fifa World Cup

Technique
Example
Effect
Font
‘Listen Up’
The font on the poster is bold and clear. The capitals and the space between each letter being equal makes them easier to read.  By using the same font in the advert and the album cover makes the advert overall look more professional and clear. By using larger fonts on some texts and smaller fonts on others show what text is more important than the others. For example ‘LISTEN UP!’ the album name is larger than ‘more collaborations’ because the name of the album is more important than the other information; the audience will need to know what the name of the album is to purchase it.
Style of Language (Emotive)
‘Listen Up!’
The exclamation mark used in the advert and the name of the album adds emotion because it’s like someone is shouting telling you to listen up. This may make you want to ‘listen up’ and purchase the album to listen to it.
Image
The album cover
The image of the album cover is presented within the magazine advert so the audience will be able to recognise it whilst purchasing it; this makes the advert look more interesting. The album cover is colourful and uses the same colours as the advert which makes it more understandable. The album cover also includes the album name and what it’s for; these are important information. There’s also an image of the Fifa World Cup; this shows us the sponsor. Lastly there’s the logo of the record label.
Colour
Yellow, orange and green
The colours used make the magazine advert look professional as there is only 4 colours used; many colours would make the advert look cheap. As yellow is a bright colour, using it as the background makes the advert look bright and eye-catching. Also as this advert is for the World Cup in South Africa, Africa is a hot and sunny place, so these colours represent how hot Africa is. The yellow and orange may represent the sun while the green represents the grass. The colours used may persuade the audience to buy the album as they may get a sense of being in South Africa.
Layout
Simple but effective
The magazine advert is structured in an easy to read style. This is effective as it will look more professional.
Information
-          Album name
-          Featuring artists
-          Release date
-          Record label
The information in the magazine advert is important as these are key information the audience need to know to purchase the album. Also the featuring artists are included because the audience might like to listen to some of the artists included. Magazine adverts are important as it helps sell an album.
