Draft for magazine adverts

Draft 1

Technique
Example
Effect
Font
Same font and size of font.
I decided to use the same font as the album to make this magazine advert look more professional and clear. Also ‘Dazzling Debut New Album’ has a larger font than the rest because this is announcing the debut album; it shows importance.
Style of Language (Emotive)
‘Dazzling’
I decided to use the word ‘Dazzling’ to describe the album because this emotive language will give the sense this is a good album; this will attract the audience to buy the album. The exclamation mark will help emphasize the debut album.
Image
Album cover
I decided to include the image of the album so the audience can see what the album looks like. This makes the advert look more interesting and eye-catching. I also added images of popcorn and drink. I did this to give the audience a cinema feel when they look at the advert. I added the logo of the record label and iTunes so the audience can know what record label the band are from and where you can purchase the album.
Colour
Black and white
I chose to use a black background in this magazine advert because the white words are more noticeable as they’re contrasting colours. The background of the ‘album out now! CD/ download’ text is white with black writing so it can be clearer that the album is out now to purchase online and in stores.
Layout
Readable
I chose this layout for this magazine advert because it looks clearer to read.
Information
Important
The information I included in this magazine advert are important for the audience to know. For example they need to know the name of the band and the name of the album to purchase the album.

Style of Language (Emotive)
Theatre feel
I decided to use the words ‘Kitsune presents’ to announce the debut album because it gives a feel that the audience reading this are watching a play at the theatre as this is what would be said before a play starts. This will also emphasize the album name ‘Cigarettes In The Theatre’ attracting the audience to buying the album. The three dots gives suspense as a play at a theatre would normally do.
Image
Background and album cover
I chose to use the background of a theatre in this magazine advert because the album name is ‘Cigarettes In The Theatre’ and I thought a theatre background would be perfect to emphasize the name of the album. Also as the writing is white, the words won’t be as clear as so I decided to put a black outline to help make it to be clearer.

I decided to include the image of the album so the audience can see what the album looks like. This makes the poster look more interesting and eye-catching. I also added the logo of the record label and iTunes so the audience can know what record label the band are from and where it’s available to purchase.
